![]() ![]() My hunting attention span is not great, as it turns out. We picked up the moose track again and followed that, but then came across some cougar tracks, which I started following instead. Mutt tracked the bear, and I followed Mutt, for about 10 minutes, but we eventually lost it-possibly because we were right at the edge of the map and it may have simply wandered off and dematerialized. Muttonchop is like an animal-tracking cheat code I can pet. Look at him doing his proud little prance with his nose in the air. Plus, it's extremely cute when Mutt finds a scent and tries to locate it. I've subcontracted out the detective work to someone much more capable. I can stroll along, looking at the landscape, admiring butterflies, and watching Muttonchop run around without having to keep my face constantly pointed between my boots. ![]() So, I reward Mutt anytime he does anything: finds poop, sniffs pee, or locates a new track.Īpart from it just being nice to have a nice doggie along with you on the walk, it completely frees you up from staring at the ground the whole time you're out in the woods. Rewarding your dog isn't just a nice thing to do, it also gives them a little RPG-like boost to their tracking and stamina stats. So “hunt” over to the Xbox store and pick up your Xbox Series version and enjoy it for all it’s worth on your Xbox platform and take down some much anticipated “game”.After rewarding him by telling him he was good (that's not lip service, he is extremely good), I sent him off to track the moose. ![]() So in the end the game is easy to recommend to fans and a worthy addition to the Xbox library in my honest opinion. If you are a fan of the genre I have no doubt you will enjoy the game to its fullest, however if you do not particularly care for the genre the game is not likely enough to change your mind. The downsides are things that could keep someone that isn't a normal fan of the genre from being fully immersed but aren't overly cumbersome in my humble opinion. It has all the basics nailed down to be a solid entry in the franchise. As a fan of hunting and fishing games it's easy to say I truly enjoy Hunting Simulator 2. The game’s great qualities are apparent as are the improvements over the previous game in the series for Xbox One and Xbox Series S | X alike, such as the ability to use a hunting dog, graphics while nice overall the up close detail still can be off-putting to some, and does hold its potential back a bit. But, alas you also have the privilege of obtaining all the achievements for a second time on the Xbox Series S | X version so if you are an achievement hunter then you will see this as a perk rather than a flaw. It improves upon its predecessor to become a better simulation overall, but certain choices end up hurting it like not being able to upload a save or continue where you left off in your Xbox One journey. Hunting Simulator 2 is flawed in several ways that hold it back from being considered a masterpiece in the hunting genre, tho it gives fans of the genre something tangible at the same time. Hunting Simulator 2 is ultimately an enjoyable and fun hunting simulation the game while drastically improved over its predecessor on the Hunting Simulator 2 is ultimately an enjoyable and fun hunting simulation the game while drastically improved over its predecessor on the Xbox One, which I personally enjoyed very much as well.
